The Bon Odori celebration in Malaysia is an effort to promote and strengthen cultural ties between Malaysia and Japan. It is estimated that every year more than 30,000 people participated in the celebration.

This year also marks the 60th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Malaysia & Japan.
